Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virender Kumar on Saturday announced that funding of Rs 17,225 crore has been disbursed to help and empower more than 5.4 lakh people from marginalized groups across the country.
Shilp Samagam Mela is organized by National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC), National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) and National Sanitation Development Corporation (NSC) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. being conducted by SKFDC). The Shilp Samagam is organized from 07-15 October 2023.
Speaking on this important occasion, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virender Kumar said, “Funds of Rs.17,225 crore will help the underprivileged by benefiting more than 5.4 lakh people from different parts of the country. and distributed to empower them.various programs focusing on educational, economic and social development as well as rehabilitation of their target groups.
“Our mission is to provide them with an important platform to showcase and sell their diversified products. The three corporations under the ministry, namely NSFDC, NBCFDC, and NSKFDC, have provided artisans and other beneficiaries with term loan schemes, microfinance schemes and Facilitated by financing through various channel partners at a marginal interest rate of 5%, enabling them to market. And sell their products through this exhibition platform,” said Kumar.
A wide range of products are available for sale in Shilp Samagam-2023. It includes a variety of items. These include wooden handicrafts, metal handicrafts, sugarcane and bamboo products, Madhubani paintings, ceramic products, handloom and textile items, wooden utensils, jewellery, leather goods, jute products, carpets and dairy products.
Additionally, the exhibition includes wooden handicraft products, floristry products, water hyacinth products, pickles, organic honey, Aadi embroidery work, jackets, Rajasthani jatts, bead work and much more. The inaugural fair started in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and is scheduled to be held in Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Nagpur and Patna in the near future.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy delicious cuisines representing different regions of the country at the event, while the vibrant cultural performances every evening are sure to be an eye-catching attraction.
