Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Women and Child Development Dr. Mahendrabhai Monjapara inaugurated a major conference on Homeopathy in Kolkata, a major step towards achieving ‘Sarojanya Swasthya’, a holistic vision for healthcare. pointed out.
The conference was organized by the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy in association with Dr. Anjali Chatterjee Regional Research Institute for Homeopathy as an Eastern Zone event. Its main aim was to position homeopathy as the preferred choice for patient treatment, overall well-being, health promotion, and disease prevention – an approach that has been encapsulated in the term ‘Sarojnaya Swasthya’.
The event was on the occasion of World Homeopathy Day, which is celebrated on April 10 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Honorable Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. This year, the celebration expanded beyond one day and venue, with events organized in four zones across the country.
During the inaugural function, Dr. Manjapara praised the clinical effectiveness of homeopathy and appreciated the ongoing research efforts in this field. He emphasized that significant progress is being made in all areas of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy).
Dr Manjapara also highlighted the commitment of the Ministry of AYUSH to promote infrastructure development, human resource development, drug development, and creation of AYUSH resources linked to research and best practices.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized the need to present definitive evidence in favor of homeopathy to the international community, emphasizing the consolidation of clinical and research-based data. It is noteworthy that West Bengal holds a special place in the history of homeopathy in India, serving as its capital, from where this holistic health care system spread to all corners of the country.
