FEED to host IIM Kashipur’s ‘Agri-industrialization in South Asia’ Consortium 2023

Titled ‘Agriculture Consortium of Higher Education and Research Institutions’, the event will span two information days, to be held on 25th and 26th September 2023 at the heart of IIM Kashipur Campus in Kashipur, Uttarakhand.

The gathering will host distinguished participants from agricultural universities and research institutes spread across the length and breadth of India. The main theme of the Agri Consortium is to champion agri-industrialization as a key catalyst for India’s economic growth. It aims to shed light on the origins of agriculture, explore the important role played by higher education and research institutions in South Asian economies, and review government initiatives in this area.

During these two days, participants will have the opportunity to engage in panel discussions and expert talks to learn in-depth about the promotion of agriculture within higher education institutions. The Agri Consortium aspires to spark innovation, promote knowledge exchange and facilitate collaboration between leading agribusinesses, researchers and academic institutions.

Agri Consortium 2023 represents an important milestone in the ongoing journey to promote sustainable agribusiness and harness the potential of agri start-ups to fuel economic growth in India and the wider South Asian region. Apart from representatives from Indian agricultural universities and research institutes, the event will also welcome participants from Agribusiness Incubation Centers and Knowledge Partners working under the RKVY RAFTAAR scheme, an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India. The Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED) serves as the incubation center of IIM Kashipur, aiming to nurture and strengthen India’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. Located within the sprawling IIM Kashipur campus, FIED boasts of a dedicated space spanning 20,000 sq.ft.

FIED’s scope includes India’s most promising startups across a diverse spectrum including agriculture, education, healthcare, logistics and supply chain, green energy, waste management, tourism and hospitality, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable development goals.
