The one-day National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, share insights and move forward for Indian agriculture especially during the crucial Rabi season.

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is preparing to host a one-day National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi Campaign on September 26, 2023 in New Delhi. The important event will be chaired by the Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, which will bring together stakeholders from various Ministries, States, Union Territories, organizations and subject matter experts.












The conference will feature keynote addresses by leading agricultural economists and experts, in which Dr. Ashok Gulati will shed light on the transformation of the food system perspective from a production-based perspective. Additionally, Dr. Harish Damodaran will discuss the evolution from Green Revolution 1.0 to Green Revolution 2.0.

A distinctive aspect of this conference is its participatory nature. It will include panel discussions on key topics, including:

  1. Climate Resilient Agriculture and Modernization: In the face of growing concerns about climate change and its impact on agriculture, participants will consider strategies to increase the resilience of Indian agriculture and modernize its practices.

  2. Availability and Innovation in Fertilizer Sector: Ensuring adequate and modern supply of fertilizers is very important to improve agricultural production. This session will review the latest innovations and strategies in the fertilizer industry.












  1. Strategies for pulses, maize and oilseeds during Rabi: Pulses, maize and oilseeds are essential crops in Rabi season. Experts will discuss strategies to increase their productivity and overcome challenges.

  2. Digital Technology in Agriculture: The integration of digital technology in agriculture has the potential to revolutionize the sector. Officials from state governments, central ministries, and experts will discuss how to leverage technology for more productive and productive agricultural practices.

The participation of senior officials, experts and the collaborative nature of this conference underscores the commitment of the government to address the challenges facing the agriculture sector and ensure food security in the country.
