The Election Commission of India (ECI) today announced the schedule for assembly elections in five states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Mizoram and Rajasthan on October 9, 2023. The announcement details the dates of the election process, filing of nomination papers, polling days, and declaration of results.
Counting of votes will take place on December 3, 2023.
The Election Commission held a meeting on Friday, October 6, 2023 to formulate a strategy for the peaceful conduct of the elections. EC Police, General, and Expenditure Monitors worked together to develop strategies to ensure proper implementation of the Code of Conduct and that the funds did not affect equal opportunities.
